The problem

Salons and coaches run on bookings. Double bookings, no-shows, and messy end-of-day cash counts cost them real money. Most tools handle the calendar or the money, but not both well.

What I built

Bookra is live at getbookra.com. Clients book a service in an open slot and pay online. Owners manage bookings, staff schedules, and revenue in one place.

The platform started with salons. It was then extended to a second vertical for coaches on the same multi-tenant core.

Engineering decisions

  • A real availability engine. Open slots are worked out from each staff member’s working hours, shifts, and leave.
  • Money goes through a ledger. Finance is ledger-based, with checkout and invoices on top, so revenue reporting has one source of truth.
  • Integrated where the business already lives. Stripe for payments, Google Calendar for schedules, and WhatsApp for customer contact.
